Bruce MacDonald

Hector “Bruce” MacDonald passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2019 in the Foothills Hospital at the age of 60 years. Bruce was born May 25, 1959 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Soon after his birth his family relocated to Calgary, where he remained until 2015 when he moved to Airdrie. Bruce worked as an Ironworker since 1974 on numerous successful projects in Calgary and Southern Alberta. Bruce was proud of his family, loved his work and most of all he lived his life the way he wanted to live it! He loved watching his sports on television and will be remembered for his quick wit and ability to make us laugh. Bruce is survived and lovingly remembered by his son, Steven MacDonald (Stephanie); grandchildren, Keegan and Kinley; parents, Barbara and Hector MacDonald; sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Hank Lous; brother and sister-in-law Scott and Michelle MacDonald; five nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew. Bruce was fortunate to meet an adopted sister and her family later in his life, Noreen (Rick) Wichman. Celebration of life will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 – 2 Street SW) on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm. The family wishes to thank the staff of Unit 61 in the Foothills Hospital for the incredible care they provided.
