Betty Christine Hessel

Betty Christine Hessel (nee McCaffrey) passed on October 9, 2017 in Nanton, Alberta at the age of 87 years. Born June 27, 1930 in Beauharnois, Quebec, she was the youngest in a large family. She was an artistic and creative soul who worked as an RN for most of her career, starting at Jeffrey Hale Hospital in Quebec, then as a VON in Vancouver, the Montreal General and the Montreal Children's Hospital, and the Foothills Hospital in Calgary until her retirement. She was a devout woman, active in her parish, the choir and the community. She had a brilliant singing voice, a lifelong love of dancing, and left many beautiful portraits of her watercolour paintings. Her children, Kim, Andrew (Hani) and Brett (Jen), along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren wish her peace and love on her journey. Funeral Mass in Betty's memory will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (640, 19 Avenue NW) on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 am.
