Angele Wenzlawe Obituary

Angele Wenzlawe passed away peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary at the age of 54 years. She was born in Banff, Alberta on November 28, 1963 to Charles and Marlilee (Nicholas) Aubin. Angele was predeceased by her father and is survived by her mother; husband, Lothar (of 31 years); cherished sons, Nicholas (Sarah) and Jordan (Alex); sister, Teresa; nieces, Nicole and Hailey, and nephew, Josh.

After graduating from St. Francis High School in 1981, Angele attended Marvel Beauty School and became a certified Beautician. Working as a beautician was an outlet for her to apply her artistic talents and listening skills. Angele and Lothar met in 1984, in Banff, when Angele was visiting Banff with her girlfriends. They fell in love, and in the fall they enjoyed a trip to Europe. Lothar and Angele were married in 1987, and would once again go to Europe in the late Spring of 1988. Lothar and Angele enjoyed traveling the world together. It was through her travels that Angele’s love for antiques grew. In 1988, Angele started working from home, which allowed her to spend more time with her boys. She took pleasure in teaching her sons about nature, sharing her passion for animals, and helping them with their homework and school projects. As her boys got older, she enjoyed staying up late and talking with them into the wee hours of the morning. Angele’s love, compassion, and unwavering support helped shape Nick and Jordan into the kind and thoughtful men they are today.

Angele was also a gifted crafter; she mastered any creative project she decided to take on. Whether she was toll painting, jewelry making, beading, flower arranging, drawing or creating ribbon embroidery, her artistic skill and attention to detail shined through. Gardening was another passion of hers. She took a great deal of pride in her backyard, which she and Lothar filled with beautiful flowers, trees, and shrubs for family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy.

Angele’s love of the outdoors and animals was evident as enjoyed, regular visits to the Calgary Zoo with her family, picnics in Bragg Creek and camping with her family, friends and Lothar’s brothers and their families throughout the years.

Everyone who knew Angele was aware of her deep-rooted passion for nature. She loved animals and had a special place in her heart for her tiny teacup poodle’s Toby, Boddie, Odie, and Cricket. Over the years, the Wenzlawe household was filled with dogs and other critters that brought Angele and her family a great deal of happiness and joy.

Angele’s zest for life, her kindness, and her determination to overcome all odds, was an inspiration to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. She will be deeply missed by so many.
