Angela (Iaconis) Verardi

Angela Verardi (nee Iaconis) passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the age of 87 years, surrounded by her family. Angela will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.  She was born on November 23, 1930 in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy. She married the love of her life, Serafino (Ciccio) on April 27, 1952. Angela and Ciccio immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada on October 22, 1967 where their new adventure began. Angela enjoyed picnics, crocheting, colouring, and word search but most of all spending time with the jewels of her life, her family. She enjoyed being among her grandchildren, family and friends, where she loved to cook and reminisce about the good old days. Angela was predeceased by her husband Ciccio on October 28, 2014. She is survived by her daughter Serafina Verardi, sons Robert (Rosa) Verardi and John Verardi, daughter Mary (Mario) Girimonte, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren who truly loved and cherished their Nonna. Angela will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews abroad. Angela was predeceased by her parents Giovanni Iaconis and Maria Audia, her sister Antonietta Iaconis, and her brothers Pasquale Iaconis and Biagio Iaconis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place NW) on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11:00 am. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
