Alan Joseph MacKeigan

It is with sadness that Colin and Sherrill MacKeigan announce the sudden passing of their father, Alan MacKeigan of Calgary on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the age of 57 years.

Al was born in Sydney, NS, and moved to Calgary in 1985. He was a graduate of both Mount Allison and TUNS. He had an undeniable love for the great outdoors. He was an avid skier, mountain climber, and bird watcher. He was an excellent photographer and donated many of his works to various charities.

As well as his two children, Alan is survived by their mother, Cathy Richardson; two sisters, Betty Lou and Carolie (Rudy) Sandiford; Aunt Kay and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Alan is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Anne and his sister Laurine Scobie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Delta Calgary South by Marriott (Bonavista Ballroom, Tower Building, 135 Southland Drive SE, Calgary) on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
