Ronald (Ron) Yoichi Doi, of Red Deer, AB passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Calgary, AB at the age of 71 years.
Ron was born in New Denver, British Columbia to Kazuye (Kay) and Tadao (Fred) Doi on February 16, 1945. Ron grew up in Geraldton, Ontario, moving to Alberta in his early twenties for new opportunities. Ron loved his family and prided himself on caring for his parents. Ron loved to laugh and would constantly tease those around him. He will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor, charm and wit.
Ron is predeceased by his parents, Kay and Fred; and brother Fred.
Ron is survived by his partner Cathy and her family, his three children Ron, Rhonda (Randall) and Rosalynd and his granddaughter Lauren; Ron's brother Alfred (Iris) of Geraldton, ON, sister Cathy (Tony) of Olds, AB and sister in law Terri of Winnipeg, MB; Ron's stepdaughter Sarah and her son James and stepdaughter Amanda (Mike) and their children Kayla and Jordyn. Ron will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will also be missed by his faithful dog, Buddha.
In keeping with Ron's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Relatives and friends are invited to the celebration of his life at the Loyal Order of Moose (37565 Hwy 2 #307 Red Deer County, AB) on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
