Rodney Hugh McKay

It is with sadness that the family of Rodney (Rod) Hugh McKay announces his passing on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the age of 81 years. Forever in our hearts, Rod will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Rosamonde, and their children Lauri (Brent) Robertson, Cameron (Noonie) McKay, Stuart Ian McKay, Megan McKay, and son-in-law Steve Neidermayer. Rod (Granddad, Duck) will be greatly missed by his 5 beloved granddaughters, Brianne, Haylee, Kiera, Sloane, and Brynne. Rod is also remembered by his brothers Neil (Barb) and Peter (Melody) McKay, sisters Elaine Cranmer and Lynn McKay and his nieces and nephews. Rod was predeceased by his daughter Shauna, his parents, Don and Elsa, brother John and sister Marion Patricia. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Laurence Anglican Church (5940 Lakeview Dr SW) on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 am. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice and the Intensive Palliative Care unit at the Foothills Hospital for the care and comfort they provided to Rod over the last few months.
