Chrisanthia Katsaounis

Chrisanthia Katsaounis, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital with her family by her side, on December 23, 2016, 3:55 pm at the age of 52 years. Kris was a selfless woman who touched the lives of many. She will be missed, but never forgotten by her family and friends. Kris is survived by her loving husband Jim, sons; Evan, Christoph, and Ayron, mother, Mary Thodas, mother-in-law Antonia Katsaounis, brother and sister-in-law; Bob and Susan Thodas, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Spiros and Ria Katsaounis, nieces; Marianne, Jessica, Antonia and Tia, and nephews; Christian, Spiros and Christopher. Kris is predeceased by her father Christos Thodas and father-in-law Evangelos Katsaounis. Kris was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt. Her family was her livelihood and she cherished every moment spent with them. A graduate from Devry with a Software Engineering degree; she was devoted and passionate about her work with the Calgary Royals Hockey Club. She served on the board in various roles for 14 years, most recently as their administrative assistant. Continuously brought forward her views and was always committed to what was the best for player development and the organization. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tamarac Crescent SW) on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tamarac Crescent SW) on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00am, with the Rev. Father Peter Rougas, Celebrant. Graveside service to follow at Edenbrook Memorial Gardens.
