Albert Anthony Hess

Albert passed away peacefully May 16, 2017 with his wife Noreen by his side. He was born in Borodino, Romania of German origin descent and immigrated to Canada in 1954 through Montreal to Calgary where he resided until his passing. Albert attended SAIT and achieved his machinist certificate and worked at Barber Industries for 40 years. He married Noreen in 1960 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and shortly after moved to their current home in Haysboro. Albert's greatest pleasures were spending time with his family, travelling, skiing, maintaining his farm east of Calgary where he was able to enjoy his time working the land and of course making his famous homemade wine, which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. Albert was very talented and had many hobbies, including woodworking and blacksmithing as is evident by all his creations that he shared with his family. He is predeceased by his parents Jacob and Alvine Hess and his brothers Alfred Hess and Otto Hess and sister Ella Hein. Albert will be sorely missed by his wife of 56 years Noreen, his daughters and sons-in-law Deborah & Patrick Kirkland and Liana & Mike Lamacchia and his grandchildren Erika and Grace Kirkland and Matthew, Mikaela and Alexandra Lamacchia. Albert is also survived by his sisters Adele Ost and Leontine (Herman) Winkler both in Germany as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard's Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive SW) on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:30 am. Graveside service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
