It is with deep sadness that we announce that Adam, beloved husband and father, fell asleep in the Lord at age 47 after a short, intense battle with brain cancer. Adam will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife of 18 years, Marta; children, Ewa (16) and Peter (8); older brother Jan; cousins and extended family; friends and all who know him. Adam lived in strong faith in God and shared his many blessings and talents to the fullest extent. Adam came to Canada in 1989 from Poland as a refugee with $20 in his pocket and no family or friends yet here. He was a pioneer and through hard work and perseverance achieved so much. Adam valued education and was very proud when he got his MBA. He had successful career as an IT manager, respected for his work ethic and people skills. At work and beyond, he loved helping and advising others, whether asked for help or not. Adam's Ukrainian heritage was very important to him - he was a regular volunteer for many local Ukrainian organizations and enthusiastically passed on the language and traditions to his children. What Adam valued the most, and believed was his highest achievement, was his family, often remarking that "I would be nobody without my family". He was so proud of his children and honoured to be a father and always put his family first in his life. Family wishes to thank everyone who helped us in this difficult time, all family and friends, as well as Fr. Taras Krochak and Fr. Timothy Chrapko, and John Costello Catholic School (truly a community of caring).
